An Unforgettable Fossil Hunting Adventure in the Desert

I recently went on a fossil hunting trip in the desert with Mohamed, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, Mohamed was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. He has an impressive knowledge of fossiliferous areas. What made this trip especially unique was Mohamed's ability to guide us to remote, rarely visited sites. These hidden spots were rich with fossils such as ammonites, orthoceras, trilobites. If you're looking for a genuine adventure and want to discover parts of the desert that few people ever see, I highly recommend booking a trip with Mohamed. Cherry on the top, he prepared moroccan tea setting a fire in the middle of the desert.

Great experience with many beautiful fossils🐚

We casually bumped into Mohamed because his family restaurant had really good reviews (berber pizza is a MUST TRY). We were interested in the fossil hunting and we went with him. That was a BLAST! He knows many outvrops and rock formations full of trilobites, ammonites, shells, corals and more which are not that available to people (you can either walk 2 hours into the wild desert or get a jeep) but it is going to be an unforgettable experience, not just for the fossils but also for the company. Hands on guys, this is a good dude🙏🌈

Fossil hunting at its best

Mohammed was a wonderful guide along with his very experienced partner. A short drive into the desert and we were fossil hunting. They gave us an interesting geologic walk where we found numerous varieties of fossils. Was well worth the time spent learning about the natural history of the area and fun fossil hunting with panoramic views in the mountains. Would definitely recommend!!

Fun adventure for the whole family

The teens in our family were so excited about the fossil hunting adventure and it did not disappoint. The ride to the place was already an adventure in itself, on a motorcycle and through the sand. Hunting the fossils went with a lot of banging and clanging from tools, climbing the hill, enthusiastic shouts when a fossil was found, great fun for the whole family. Mohamed was a great guide in leading us in this adventure. We can only recommend him and his site and offers.

Do I get to keep the fossils I find?

Yes — if you find small fossils like trilobites or ammonites, you can keep them as a souvenir. But if you happen to uncover a 10-meter dinosaur, that one stays in the desert for science!

Is it guaranteed that I will find fossils?

Finding fossils always depends on luck — some guests uncover great pieces, while others may only find smaller fragments. What is guaranteed, however, is that the sites are full of visible fossils in the rocks, and you’ll always learn how to recognize them, understand their history, and explore landscapes that were once oceans or dinosaur habitats. So even if you didn't find something very special, you’ll still experience a true journey through time.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Yes! Kids usually love fossil hunting. It’s interactive, educational, and exciting for families.

Do I need any experience in fossil hunting?

No experience is needed. We guide you through the process, explain what to look for, and share the history of the fossils.

What should I bring?

Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, long pants are recommended. For full-day tours, lunch and drinks are included.

How physically demanding are the tours?

Most tours involve light walking on rocky desert ground. They are suitable for all fitness levels.

How many people are in the tours?

Private tours are just for your group. Shared tours are small-sized groups of maximum 10 people, keeping the experience personal and budget-friendly.
